Seminar intention of the leaders in providing quality content to a live audience spend countless hours developing their script, PowerPoint, pamphlets, marketing and turn-of-room products. However, the last thing that many consider to be physical at the point of operation of your event. Any seminar leader presentation has not seriously pondered the risks of losing the public interest - and sales.
In 35 years of experience in professional theater, I acknowledge that the seminar presenting problems can be solved through the use of scenario techniques. This does not mean you need to burst into a chorus of "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning "takes the initiative, but it does mean you're willing to learn the methods used successfully by people who earn their living by presenting in front of a live audience. Here are the top five areas of landmines that abandonment seminar leaders and thought that some of the basic stage can help to avoid:
1. Implementation of the room - Get a stage director. I have attended many seminars out of his course because they are not marked the beginning of a new segment and the public returned late from a break, or a bus came and took place too long, or noise intrusion from outside the room and did not stop. You need someone to manage the room during the event. Do not trust an amateur. Consult a local theater company for referrals to the stage managers and hire one to handle all physical aspects of your event. Compared with the challenges of leading a musical work or dealing with the actors, they consider their work a piece of cake.
2. Lines vision - the room-up is crucial to its success. If people doodle around in their seats to see you lose your attention. If that is not possible, make sure the seats are arranged with sufficient space between the head rows that people do not impede the view of each one of you. 3. Lighting - You want lights bright enough that members of the public can take notes and stay awake, but not wash Powerpoint presentations. Try it before the event. If you plan to display in public, often worth investing in a few portable lights on tripod stands, addition to extension cords. 5. Rehearse - Practice coordination of your script with Powerpoint - not allowed stupid! Do not just pass the script in your mind or mumbling to yourself. Practice getting the words in his mouth with his voice filled with movement. Enunciate. Recording, listen with a critical ear, play it again to someone else and let them tell you they do not understand their delivery. If you are not understood, which has lost all his work.
