10 ways to soundproof your home / Condo

Protect against neighbor noise

Whether because of their matches during the week or just your love Marilyn Manson for the bombing of the speakers after midnight, the neighbors can invade your privacy and disrupt your life without setting foot on their property.

Fortunately, you can drastically curb the effects of these attacks sonic or even eliminated entirely.

I compiled the ten most effective tactics you can use to protect your home from the intrusion of noise. The first forms are available to design a soundproof house or condo before it's built. The second set of strategies can be use in an existing house or condo.

Pre-Construction Noiseproofing

1) Use 2 x 6 plates to its interior walls, making them thicker. Connect the wall studs that are aligned alternately between the front and rear edges of top and bottom plates-this will reduce the amount of sound passing through their walls.

2) Buy a wall plates soundproof building supply store (most contractors panels Plaster can provide, too) and hang the cover over your work before putting the cast.

3) Enter batt insulation fiber hollow glass on the interior walls before closing with plasterboard-on sound deadening insulation. If you are going to make insulation, remember to wear gloves, long sleeves and goggles security.

4) Make sure that the opening of the doors in the hall itself are not directly opposite each other. This will prevent the sound from traveling directly from one room to another.

5) Purchase and install double-or triple-glazed vinyl windows. This is a shame because the investment will not only protect windows against noise, but also will provide you with superior insulation against heat and cold.

Existing-Building Noiseproofing

1) Measures most basic things you can do is to carpet their floors and put curtains or blinds on the windows to absorb outside noise. You can also replace the standard hollow interior doors with solid core doors to keep the sound for individual rooms. And he has shown that soft, upholstered furniture absorbs sound, making quieter rooms.

2) Add insulation. The best and easiest way to do this is to make a series of holes in the wall between the posts (placed near the the ceiling if you can). Then blow cellulose insulation into the wall through the holes you can rent a machine to do it yourself if you are ambitious, but probably should consider a contractor to do so. Once the isolation is patching holes in drywall and repainting of the wall.

A much messier than it could take is to remove one side of the wall, the package of fiberglass insulation and close to the wall again.

3) Construction a second wall inside the existing wall. Use "sound isolation clips" to both separate the two walls (make sure not to touch) and provide a way to fix plasterboard. The air space between walls prevent the sound waves pass through.

4) Purchase and implement sound-absorbing latex paints. These special paints are made with resins and fibers that absorb sound waves, and as easy to use as normal paint.

5) Add muffle the sound-facing wall to its walls. These are available finished or unfinished pre ¬-house shops and paint and wallpaper. You can also put cork tiles on the walls, although this aspect is not addressed to everyone.
