Sound Proof Room

What is a capsule hotel? A capsule hotel can be described as a system that offers hotel accommodation densely populated, containing the rooms a relatively standardized size based on modular plastic or fiberglass bedrooms. Apart from his own room, they share all other facilities.

History

Although they are the quintessence of Japan, the first capsule hotel was built in 1979 by a chapter in Osaka with the name of Kisho Kurokawa. The rates were slightly lower then at about 1,600 yen. It is a uniquely Japanese phenomenon not only because of the restrictions of space, but because Japan is a relatively safe country and the installation would be unthinkable in many other countries.

It was not until 1985, when the Tsukuba Science Expo was held that capsule hotels became well known in Japan. There was enough room to accommodate everyone, so the organizers decided to do for all capsule hotels to enjoy the exhibition and stay overnight. This great news when it reported on Japanese television, and since then capsule hotels have become part of Japanese vocabulary. The first reported the capsule hotel in Tokyo was Green Plaza Shinjuku, located in the Red Light District Kabukicho. Green Square is also the largest in Tokyo, with 630 rooms.

Using a capsule Hotel

Most not have the room key so you need to place your valuables in a separate cupboard. You have to share the bathroom, lounge and bathroom with all other (most of capsule hotels have a sauna included). Most of the basic elements that are provided and have a shared bathroom, shared with other clients. Many hotels have a large bath capsules, called 'Rotenburo', meaning "open-air bath 'where you can relax in the open. When you enter you have to take your shoes off, put them in a shoe closet and lock with the key provided. Then take the key shoe closet for the reception staff and to deliver another key for a small linen closet. At this point you give a description of how your system works.

There is usually a Yukata, bath towel and a small towel in the closet in which to place your belongings. After doing this you can then go to your room. You can see a small television while lying down (usually about 8 inches). In fact, capsule hotels are so compact that it is possible to operate the lights, air conditioning, TV, radio and alarm clock from bed without having to move. One negative aspect of most are not soundproof, so you can listen to the person to your snoring side (recommended earplugs). Most hotels have a two tier system so that each room has two bedrooms capsules -- one at the top and one on the bottom. People in the front tell you whether you are at the top or bottom and can access the top bunk rooms downstairs provided. For those over about 190cm, you have to bend your legs slightly when you go to bed. For those who are a little overweight is not normally a problem with width.

Location

They are found mainly in the central city areas, where it is common for people to lose the last train or bus. Almost all capsule hotels are within walking distance of the station.

Reservations

Although many people use hotels capsule, and losing the last train, it is possilbe to make reservations via the Internet or by telephone.

Terms

Many they only accept men, but there are some that are unique to women. In terms of time constraints, most places have a time control from 17:00 and check out by 10:00 am. Depending on the type of capsule hotel, are required to return to the hotel at 02:00, but others are 24 hours. While most require to stay overnight, there are some that allow you to use the facilities for a shorter period of time, if you just want to take a break. For example, in Capsule Inn Akihabara let you take a shower for 500 yen, or sleep / rest for 3 hours for 1,200 yen, or ¥ 2,500 for 7 hours. Some places have restrictions on how Many nights you can stay, so if you're looking to stay for a period of more than 2 nights should check their conditions before booking.

Capsule hotels are believed to be the domain of men only, but there are many places available where women can stay. Some are exclusive to women and some allow that men and women to remain in the same complex, although the accommodation areas and the bathroom are separated. In most of them can not take your own food and drink and you must be over 18 years.

Recent trends

Although foreigners describe as capsule hotels' hotels Coffin ', in many cases this is an unfair description. Some of the newer capsule hotels have Internet access, a key to your room, private videos (such as the Hotel Dandy in Ueno) and private shower room. They also have passenger cabin types that have a chair and table. More recently, double capsule hotels bed have been introduced which has enabled two people in a room. In many of the new establishments, on the top floor has a sauna open (rotenburo) and a separate massage room. In particular, some women are just pretty extravagant capsule hotels with spas of high quality.

Alternative accommodation

If you are looking for something even cheaper (though arguably not as comfortable), other alternatives are Kenkou () health of the land or Manga Kissatens.

What is a cheap way to sound proof my drum room?

Well, I have converted the garage into a drum room, our neighbors cannot hear it (they were in townhomes), but my parents can (Our room is right above our garage, 9 feet high. Is there a cheap way to soundproof the ceiling a little? So I can play anytime? My budget is anywhere up $ 100? If this is reasonable for egg cartons are good? Is there perhaps a link to a Youtube video to prove? Where can I buy this?

For the money you have, the best type of acoustic insulation material of the insulation sheets rose by Dow Corning. You can buy them Home Depot or Lowe's. You may be able to get the remains of a well insulated installlment company. They work very well and can be placed on slopes or finished walls. In addition, make sure you have carpet and carpet padding on the pad to absorb sound waves. You can usually get free scrap and stamped on Craigslist. Lowes also sells something called acoustic insulation sheet. The link is: http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=15387-157-00634&lpage=none I have no experience with, however. Good luck!
