Here's a speaker system that offers a great home theater experience, no matter where you sit. Includes the THX Ultra2 Certified TX-T3SE tower speakers, a marvellous THX Select Certified center speaker whose ability with voices will astonish, THX Select dipole speakers for rear effects and a hefty 200W active THX Select certified subwoofer. Perhaps the most distinctive piece of engineering on the T3s is the proprietary 'free air' tweeter. Sitting in its own ultra-rigid, spherical, aluminium enclosure on top of the cabinets, the design can be rotated to face the listener, making room integration far easier. Free of unwanted distortion, due its shape, it delivers a clear, transparent sound with excellent dispersion. Lower down the frequency range, T3s employ 7'' Crystal fibre mid/bass drivers that comprise tightly woven fibreglass whose mechanical properties - light yet extremely stiff -deliver a linear and fast response. The magnetically shielded drivers are backed by heavy duty, powerful magnets, delivering very high efficiency levels. Each driver is housed in its own damped chamber, sealed or ported, for the optimum bass tuning that can be achieved at this volume. Cabinets are heavily braced at critical points to offer an acoustically dead enclosure. They also offer small, narrow, though deep, footprints. This shape reduces diffractions - especially from the front baffles - giving an incredibly three-dimensional soundstage and far clearer stereo imaging. A similar design is found in the THX centre speaker which uses a rotating tweeter and one 7'' Crystal fibre woofer to deliver exceptional vocals. The rear effects are assigned to the THX dipole speakers which use two silk dome, reverse facing tweeters that immerse the listener in the action. Completing the package is a 200W active subwoofer with a 12'' long throw driver incorporating a light but rigid specially treated paper cone for fast, dynamic, transient bass with sonic accuracy.

  • THX® Ultra2 Certified Speakers designed for supreme performance of music and movies
  • THX Select Certified Speakers designed for pure performance of music and movies. Dipole surround pair for immersing effects.

  • Active Sub, with 12'' woofer with a 200W amplifier.

THX superiority with a price from Heaven!

by Restorator from on 2010-09-09
If you are nothing less than true Home Theater junkies (like me :-D ), then all I can shout about this system, is just "WOW, go buy it people"! It has been many years that I was living with a rather mediocre setup, consisting of a "budget" 5.1 speaker set and a nice THX Select2 certified receiver (My speakers were not THX certified). They were far behind this spec level and to make a long story short, my thoughts back then were like "I have this "X" amount of cash, but I would better buy a nice AV receiver and a budget set of speakers". I had been in a couple of nice THX surround sound demonstrations and simply put, it was a jaw dropping experience. I knew I wanted a set of THX speakers, it was the obvious "next step" for my setup. I won't hesitate to say that I went straight for an Atlantic Technology system. I had read and heard a lot about Atlantic and while searching the net, it was this company that first emerged on top of my search results. One of the demos I had heard, was one of theirs. But I had forgot about how pricey such a system was. The speaker configuration I was craving for, went well over my budget. For just the center channel, I needed about $1,500... I felt I was out of luck. Oh Hell... I left the idea on the back of my head and went on for some more months, until... well, until I stumbled upon this beauty here and well, it was tagged with an irresistible price! As i said before, to make a long story short, I immediately felt I was in front of an outstanding bargain. Beautiful design, THX Ultra2 certification for the fronts. And well, what an AWESOME PERFORMANCE! And a pair of good stereo speakers too. And believe me, these towers go down low and below, just like the company says, you won't need a subwoofer for your music sessions. After I brought the system in my flat, the whole setup was a breeze. And then BAM! I heard what I was expecting to hear. A powerful, dynamic sound, crystal-clear and well balanced highs and mids and an enveloping, breathtaking surround envelopment. What is also immediately noticeable, is that the 3D12 system outputs a "colorless", truly transparent sound. It does not have a "signature". Many would call this a "monitor" sound, much like when mastering a track in a recording studio. Nothing more, nothing less. If you happen to buy these beasts, then don't hesitate to play them loud boys! That's when all the fun begins! Brace for impact! LOL! :-D

Best Value in THX Home Theater!!

by Graham Leonard Stone from Lakeville, CT on 2008-02-25
If you want bang for your buck sound, look no further. I am a recording engineer and producer and purchased these speakers to use in the entertainment/ theater room in my studio, they are wonderful. The dynamic power and focused sound is unmatched at this price point. With the THX certification you know your not just buying speakers, you're buying a theater experience! I matched these up with the Onkyo SR805, and boy does everything sound great. Stop shopping around. I was initially sent a malfunctioning subwoofer, I emailed C.A. and they sent me a new one for no charge, even let me keep the old one to try and get fixed at a local shop! have fun with this system! -Graham

Fine AVR

by Wolfie777 from NY,NY on 2009-10-31
I agree with all the good things that have been said and I have just a few brief comments to add.The remote takes time to get used to. I had to call Denon Support a few times for more than a year every now and then to learn what I needed. Now I love it.My manual is dog-earred. It has to be because there were times that I found what I needed when Denon Support was either dead wrong and/or unaware of what I needed to know. I don't always get the technical stuff right away, but if I put the time in, its almost always in the manual. Denon Support is less than perfect. They are sometimes a little abrupt, short tempered, can take forever to get through to, and sometimes just plain wrong. However, I'll give them a B+ at worst because God knows, I've called them enough and I usually get the right answer.I'm sold on Denon and I'm looking forward to a new 4810. Another nice thing about Denon is that there are few radial changes in recent years and jumping up a notch or two is OK from the standpoint that you are not going to be completely confused, quite the contrary the newer models seem to build on the previous. If I can't get a new Denon soon I'll still be happy with my 4306.

Terrific receiver, but steep learning curve

by A. Fear from Austin, TX on 2008-03-20
I agree with pretty much every review here already done. This receiver is a tank, sounds great, but you must buy it knowing that you will be challenging yourself. To put it this way, this receiver has been integrated into my home theater for 9 months and I sill find myself tweaking it to make it sound better.Overall, I'm happy with it but wish I had bought the slightly newer model "CI" that supports 1080p upconversion since my projector supports it. But that's the my issue, not the receivers, and you always face that problem buying technology.

Outstanding Performer- not for the inexperienced User

by Philip J. Pollina from Long Island, NY USA on 2007-03-05
Absolutely outstanding feature set and performance. Very easy to set up, the net radio feature is very cool. I have and oldish VCR, a DVD player and DirecTV HD DVR set up through system, works flawlessly. I am waiting for the High Def DVD wars to settle before jumping in, but I will be ready when I do because of the outstanding number of HDMI and other inputs. The Audyssey MultEq Auto Setup/Room Eq is fabulous, worked very well in my oddly shaped room with my Klipsch surround system. I have not had any issues with the video performance, and the upscaling is wonderful. It is very nice to have one cable run to my Plasma as opposed to three! The remote is descent, but the 'hide and seek' portion is a little annoying. I was able to get all of my most needed functions into it, and the macros are nice for powering up and shutting down all components. Sonic performance is well, Denon-esque- meaning beautiful. This is a high-end AV receiver for a high-end user. If you are a true home theater enthusiast, you will extremely happy with this wonderful piece of equipment.

Denon 4306 has several drawbacks

by L. Templeton from California, USA on 2006-06-26
As a 4306 owner, I agree with many of the comments by previous reviewers. Sound and video quality are excellent, HDMI switching works fine. Tons of features and somewhat complex to set up. The manual is marginal in many respects. As stated in previous reviews, the remote control is not very good, but you'll probably want to use a good universal remote if you have more than a few units in your system. My big problem with the 4306 is this. When playing my Sony VCR through the Denon composite video input, the 4306 often completely freezes and displays only green and/or yellow vertical lines on the screen. This cannot be corrected with the remote control. You have to go to the 4306 and manually cycle it off/on in order to restore normal operation. This is a significant glitch in a high-priced product like the 4306.I also discovered that the 4306 does not provide audio line outputs. I want to listen to headphones while the main speakers are turned lower or off. (I'm hard of hearing, my wife is not). The preamp outputs are controlled by the same knob as the main speakers. Turn the main speakers down or off and you turn the preamp out levels down or off. Plug the wireless headphone base unit into the heaphone jack on the 4306 and it completely disconnects the main speakers. There doesn't seem to be a clean solution.Aside from the above problems, I am satisfied with the performance of the 4306.
