How to look better subwoofer in my living room?

My husband and I just bought the Sony Bravia 5.1 5 theater speaker home entertainment and the subwoofer is horrible! It is quite elegant, but it's huge! We have a small entertainment stand (three open shelves) should also have our XBOX360, PS2, Wii, router, receiver, and cable modem. No matter how the position of the subwoofer (which is directly below our 37 "Vizio and directly through the main living room) is so ugly! To I just looks like a random CPU sitting in our living room. Any suggestions? We have two DVD racks at the corner turnbuckle type about 6 feet of our entertainment stand (and the diagonal of the main living room), wanted to put the subwoofer behind the racks of DVDs, but my husband says that prevent us from achieving an excellent sound quality. Any suggestions are welcome! I just want to find ways of integrating the subwoofer in the living room, but look out of place or corpulent.

Sub woofers are only for low frequency sound. I work for a cabinet shop and have been in business for 25 years. We build high end furniture, centers entertainment, and create customized rooms of origin. Yes Subwoofers are not always attractive, but does not have to be seen. Back to where your cable system and ask more long and the positioning of stars to your sub in different places in the room. A good place to start might be behind the living room. Substitutes not have to be focused or as many people think. In fact, there is sure to be Im, that is what the central canal is for.They can be hidden in a corner, possibly behind Saddle. Remember, the low frequencies are "felt" more than what you hear. Think of seeing an action movie with lots of explosions a good theater. Obviously you do not want to put something right on the front of the sub speaker but rather standing in front of it does not affect sound quality. Here is a good example ....... I have a subwoofer for my speaker system on my computer. It has 4 rubber feet that hold it 3 / 4 "off the shelf that is in. He is in the bottom of the speaker box. Therefore their points down in the floor space. Your DVD shelf would not prevent the sound. I'm no expert, but local experts tell you much more of the same. One last thing, go to a store that specializes in home entertainment systems. Hope this helps.

What would you do with 20,000 square feet of living space?

My husband is working on a 20.000 square feet, and that has me wondering what to do with that space in my house. An indoor bowling alley? A dining room up to 100? private cinema? How do I use all that room?

I would definitely have a huge library, made of wood old dark everywhere, with shelves along each wall and lots of comfortable leather chairs can only sink into the bend and feet on. A home theater room spent would be included, of course, big enough to sit 10-15 people. I would also like a game room with space for table games card poker, a pool table, several pinball machines (because I love to play pinball, but mostly only be found in smoky bars in Today, so I do not get to enjoy myself as often as I want because cigarette smoke), and perhaps new versions of old arcade games used to play when I was younger (Ms PacMan anyone?). Maybe a dart board too, I always wanted to learn to play. put in a great sewing / upholstery / art room. Washing machine and the additional duty dryer in the room, dedicated solely to that task. The regular laundry too large, with space for folding clothes, leaving room for the table established permanent board, drying racks and clothes lines that are supposed to dry air (but now always dry in the dryer anyway because I do not want occupy space, while they dry, how many women actually air dry your bras as they should)?. Oh, and a huge sink for washing all the laundry by hand too. A good small computer server room with air conditioning and requirements necessary backup power. And the cables running to every room so I could connect computers / laptops / wireless routers anywhere. A greenhouse / solarium next to the house, so you could have at least one room with green plants growing on it throughout the year. At least two guest suites, and mini-apartments and suites for visitors. -An exercise room, large enough for several pieces of exercise equipment, plus plenty of room for aerobics in the middle for variety. Separate his and hers walk-in closets and separate their bathrooms and for her outside the master bedroom. Each room had its own huge other private bath too.
