Floor Sound Proofing
Floor Sound Proofing

The difference between sound editing and sound processing
Despite what the salesperson at your local / V shop tells you, soundproofing and treatment Sound are not interchangeable terms in acoustics. Sound testing is the process of creating a space to exclude any sound to escape from it; sound treatment is the manipulation of the response of a special room for frequencies to create a balanced sound in the room. Although there is similar material for both procedures, expected outcomes and processes are however very different.
Sound proof room
If you are creating a space that is used to contain a lot of sound and noise (such as rehearsal space for a death metal band), the best way to do this is to construct a room within a room. The room itself must have a thick concrete floor, walls and ceiling. This forms an outer layer that is the last line of soundproof space, and must be dense enough to absorb even stronger low-frequency sounds.
Within it, should be another room with the walls, ceiling and floor (which ideal) can be concrete and to ensure maximum density. Albarradas filled with plaster or fiberglass can also be used. This inner room should smaller than the outer room and usually placed in the middle of it, allowing a gap between where you are trapped to escape the resulting sound further. This ensures that only minimal sound meets the exterior walls of the room, thereby increasing the chances of a room 100% soundproof.
The treatment room
The treatment takes less room sound proofing material, but requires more patience and knowledge, as there will be listening tests and frequent adjustments to be made in order to create a sound as appropriate. There are three ways to treat a room, either by the absorption of sound, reflection or diffusion.
The absorption of sound is important in a sound treated room / study, since it eliminates standing waves and reflections initial surfaces. Taming these unwanted sounds also creates a stereo image more clear and precise, as in the case of the suite of a mixing engineer. The absorption sound is achieved through the placement of porous material such as fiberglass cloth and in strategic areas. These act as traps to absorb the high frequencies and socks, and are usually placed around the room and ceiling. To capture the low frequencies, denser absorbers (called bass traps) are placed in places forming the corners between the walls and in spaces where the wall of the room to meet the ceiling.
Diffusion is used to disperse the sound hitting the surface in random directions. Although less common than the shock absorbers and reflectors, diffusers serve an important purpose of preventing redundant travel of sound waves. The diffusers are generally made with a mathematical model as a guide to ensure the randomness of the surface. Once the sound reaches the face of the diffuser, is distributed arbitrarily.
The next time you decide to create a quality listening space first defining whether or not you would I want to prove that, treatment, or both. Knowing what you want to do in advance will save energy and money by allowing you to focus on what will be the priorities for his acoustic project.
