Cheap home theatre solution?

I have a nice dark room, some seating, and a surround sound system. all that's left is the projector-screen combination. my funds are limited to around 500 dollars.

Home theater projectors are pretty expensive. $600 for the cheapest ones of decent quality. You may want to look into a business projector. This LG may be a good buy for you. You can project up to an 80" display. It has an LED lamp which lasts 30000 hours(8X the average lamp), uses less electricity and creates less heat.

Spend the majority of your money on the projector, since it makes the most impact on your viewing experience. Make a paint on screen to save money. If you have a nice smooth and flat wall you can save hundreds.
