Complying with NYC Sections 28-100 Through 28-109 Ordinance for noise mitigation construction sites in New York City

Today New laws are in force in the State of New York, which requires that any construction taking place in the city must provide some noise reduction construction machinery that can be heard by the receiver (the general public in the city).

This section of the Ordinance by section 28-101 and 28-108 has been revised for 2008. The law requires that every construction site in town equipped with block noise or noise reduction material. Already case of a nearly soundproof structure or concrete barriers or a sound curtain mitigation. No matter what type of barrier, it must meet an STC (Sound Transmission Class) of 30 or better.

Section 28-100 provides the general requirements for compliance with noise abatement ordinance in New York.

The fence construction can not measure height above 15 feet and should block line of sight from the receiver. When using a fence, vinyl, 2LB American mass load would be connected to the fence with wire or thread safety packaging aircraft and a pair of safety wire pliers. The loaded mass vinyl or for short MLV is a very strong and dense but can be drilled or punched to allow wire clamps for use. It is recommended that all holes drilled in the MLV be caulked with acoustical caulk such as OSI-175 SC putty sound.
